Charnen remained at Esin's tomb until time meant nothing anymore. Too many sunsets had come and gone since the world had shattered. The tombstone hadn't been erected immediately, but several days later people had come, shoved Charnen out of the way, and then carried the statue of the deceased king to the top of the mound in which Esin now lay.   Now, Charnen's eyes found the granite statue, staring up through unkempt black hair at the stony face; it bore Esin's features, certainly. But the artist had lacked the skill necessary to bring life to those dark eyes, and the gray of granite seemed only to capture the awful Bonds - Chapter 16

Brief Synopsis: When the demon Rishay escapes from Hell's lowest level, his only goal is to destroy Death--slowly, over time--for placing Rishay in Hell one century before. The council of Heaven sends Death to quickly recapture the demon and put him back where he belongs, but it seems Death almost wants to be punished. Desperate to resolve things, the council enlists the aid of a mortal woman who can see demonic auras, and Death's long-time rival, Life. Unfortunately this seems to be exactly what Rishay had in mind from the start.

NaNoWriMo starts officially...

First, I hope everyone had a terrific Halloween yesterday. I know I did!

As to NaNoWriMo, I've got 2,082 words so far, and that means I've officially begun my story. Mikey-Mike is gonna be so happy (considering that kid hates me so much). Of course, with NaNo beginning, I'll once again be absent from dA most of the time during November (as if I was actually active through October...). This means that deviations won't be commented to (though some may be faved), and I'll probably only hop on to update Bonds sometime, as the next chapter IS ready to upload (I'm just procrastinating).

Again, my username on NaNoWriMo.com is Mel-Worth, for those who want to add me as a buddy, or simply check my progress throughout the month. (Next year I'll probably make a new account with my real pen name, or something).
